Why We Do Not Work With or Bill Insurance

We do not bill insurance. There are many reasons why we do not practice under the restrictive insurance billing model.

Insurance companies restrict access to much-needed therapies for men and women in the USA. Self-pay allows for more liberal and progressive prescribing practices. We treat you, the patient, not a number on an insurance company's coverage chart.

As an example, many insurance carriers use conservative testosterone thresholds to determine what they consider low enough to treat, regardless of your individual symptoms, body composition, or how you feel. This can leave symptomatic patients without coverage for treatment simply because a lab value falls just above an arbitrary coverage cutoff. We believe your treatment decisions should be based on a full clinical picture and a conversation with your provider, not an insurance underwriter's coverage policy.

Key Benefits:

Reduced administrative burden: By not billing insurance, we significantly reduce paperwork and administrative overhead, allowing our providers to focus on patient care instead.

Greater flexibility in treatment plans: Without insurance constraints, we tailor treatment plans to individual patient needs without prior authorization requirements or coverage limitations shaping what we can offer.

Improved patient access: No co-pays, no insurance hurdles, and easier direct access to your provider.

Potential for lower costs: While patients pay directly, this can sometimes be more affordable than high insurance deductibles, especially for individuals with relatively stable health needs.

Patient-directed care: Our model gives you a direct role in your treatment pathway, in partnership with your provider's clinical judgment.
